The California Tractor/Trailer Operator Program is
a 160 clock hours (a clock hour equals 50 contact minutes per hour) day or night course.
Classroom training is 40 hours for 5 days (one week) for 8 hours per day.
Field/practical training is 120 hours for 30 days (six weeks) for 4 hours per
day.
Classes meet Monday through Friday.
The Washington Advanced
Tractor Trailer Operator Program is a four and a half week program
(full-time enrollment). Field and classroom training total 165 clock
hours (a clock hour equals 50 contact minutes per hour). Field training consists of
120 hours of actual driving, backing skills, and observation time.
Classroom/Lab training is 45 hours.
Course work includes:
Driving on the open road in highway, city, and heavy traffic conditions.
Safe and efficient operation of various types of tractors and trailers.
Defensive driving
techniques, backing, safety and emergency procedures.
In-depth study of DOT safety rules and regulations.
Evaluations and critiques
from our team of professional instructors.
Upon
successful completion of the program graduates will receive a diploma.
